Wild Camping Photography Workshops

How would you like to pitch a tent and sleep under the stars high up in the Lake District. Photograph sunset, maybe photograph the milky way & a myriad of stars. Get up early and photograph the most beautiful sunrises in places that only a small percentage of people get to experience.

Not got the experience or equipment to do it on your own. Don’t worry, I will provide you with the equipment. ( All new latest Rucksacks, Tent, Sleeping bag, stove. etc)

I am a qualified mountain leader, first aid trained & navigation trainer for the Lake District national park with over 35yrs of experience walking the fells and mountains of Great Britain, Europe, Asia & the USA. I have lived on the edge of the Lake District since 1980.

Workshops will consist of two days arranged to fit in with your requirements (weather permitting).

Day 1 will be meeting up, looking at, equipment, brief intro to navigation, wild campsite & route choice. Heading out into the fells and finding a campsite. Photographing as we go but especially picking a location for sunset.

Day 2 will possibly include some astro photography, getting up early to photograph the blue hour and sunrise. Break camp and walk in the fells photographing views as we go. Ending up back at the car for a late breakfast or lunch depending on the time.

Route and campsite choice will be taylored to suit individual fitness levels and experience. Clients should be fit enough to carry a full rucksack over hilly terrain for a  some time over the two days. Even those with lower fitness levels can reach wild camp areas which provide a great experience & photographs. Use my contact page to discuss options.
Cost of the wild camping workshop is £250 per person for the two days. This is based on a maximum of 3 to 1 workshop & includes use of individual camping equipment. Additional £50 deposit is required returned in the event of all camping equipment being returned undamaged.
20% Discount can be applied if clients have their own camping equipment.

Clients will need to bring their own photography equipment, tripod, filters etc. It is recommended that clients have a photography insert bag which will fit into a 55/60lt rucksack. This can be discussed and advice given prior to the workshop.

These workshops are a maximum of 1:3 clients, clients wishing to bring a non photography partner/friend sharing a tent can do so at a cost of an additional £100 for the two days.

Bookings and enquiries can be made via my contact page. Include a telephone number if you wish to speak to me direct to discuss options.
